My Robot R-U-ME2

This is a lovely poem i have come across taken from Denis Waitley’s book The Seeds of Greatness Treasury.  I used to write a lot of poems myself and find it interesting to know, that there is a difference between what the author is thinking while writing the words and the meaning they hold to the author and the difference the very same words  hold in the mind and  perception of the reader not only effecting thoughts but creating new meaning.

My Robot: R-U-ME2

I have a little robot,

That goes around with me.

I tell him what i’m thinking,

I tell him what i see,

I tell my little robot,

All my hopes and fears.

He listens and remembers,

All my joy and tears.

At first my little robot,

Followed my command,

But after years of training,

He’s gotten out of hand.

He doesn’t care what’s right or wrong,

Or what is false or true.

No matter what i try now,

He tells me what to do.

10 Secrets for Success and Inner Peace – Wayne Dyer

I have been inspired by Wayne Dyer’s work for some years now and although i will be sharing more of his work with you in my blogs, i wanted to begin with something quite fundamental. The 10 Secrets for Success and Inner Peace. This like all of Wayne Dyer’s work is beautifully expressed and he said of this book ” they’re valuable for anyone who has conciously decided to be on their life path.”

I have posted links at the end of this post if you would like to order either the CD version or Book through Amazon.

However here is a little overview of the 10 Secrets..

The First Secret: Have a mind that is open to everything and attached to nothing

The Second Secret: Don’t die with your music still inside you

The Third Secret: You can’t give away what you don’t have

The Fourth Secret: Embrace silence

The Fifth Secret: Give up your personal history

The Sixth Secret: You can’t fix a problem with the same mind that created it

The Seventh Secret: There are no justified resentments

The Eighth Secret: Treat yourself as if you already are what you’d like to be

The Ninth Secret: Treasure your divinity

The Tenth Secret: Wisdom is avoiding all thoughts that weaken you

Whose Life Have You Touched Today?

Information Please
by Author Unknown

When I was quite young, my father had one of the first
telephones in our neighborhood. I remember well the
polished, old case fastened to the wall. The shiny receiver
hung on the side of the box. I was too little to reach the
telephone, but used to listen with fascination when my
mother used to talk to it. Then I discovered that somewhere
inside the wonderful device lived an amazing person her name
was “Information Please” and there was nothing she did not
know. “Information Please” could supply anybody’s number and
the correct time.

My first personal experience with this genie-in-the-bottle
came one day while my mother was visiting a neighbor.
Amusing myself at the tool bench in the basement, I whacked
my finger with a hammer. The pain was terrible, but there
didn’t seem to be any reason in crying because there was no
one home to give sympathy. I walked around the house sucking
my throbbing finger, finally arriving at the stairway.

The telephone! Quickly, I ran for the foot stool in the
parlor and dragged it to the landing. Climbing up, I
unhooked the receiver in the parlor and held it to my ear.
“Information Please,” I said into the mouthpiece just above
my head. A click or two and a small clear voice spoke into
my ear.

“Information”

“I hurt my finger…” I wailed into the phone. The tears
came readily enough now that I had an audience.

“Isn’t your mother home?” came the question.

“Nobody’s home but me,” I blubbered.

“Are you bleeding?” the voice asked.

“No,” I replied. “I hit my finger with the hammer and it
hurts.”

“Can you open your icebox?” she asked. I said I could.

“Then chip off a little piece of ice and hold it to your
finger,” said the voice.

After that, I called “Information Please” for everything. I
asked her for help with my geography and she told me where
Philadelphia was. She helped me with my math. She told me my
pet chipmunk, that I had caught in the park just the day
before, would eat fruit and nuts. Then, there was the time
Petey, our pet canary died. I called “Information Please”
and told her the sad story. She listened, then said the
usual things grown ups say to soothe a child. But I was
unconsoled. I asked her, “Why is it that birds should sing
so beautifully and bring joy to all families, only to end up
as a heap of feathers on the bottom of a cage?” She must
have sensed my deep concern, for she said quietly, “Paul,
always remember that there are other worlds to sing in.”
Somehow I felt better.

Another day I was on the telephone. “Information Please.”

“Information,” said the now familiar voice.

“How do you spell fix?” I asked.

All this took place in a small town in the Pacific
Northwest. When I was nine years old, we moved across the
country to Boston. I missed my friend very much.
“Information Please” belonged in that old wooden box back
home and I somehow never thought of trying the tall, shiny
new phone that sat on the table in the hall. As I grew into
my teens, the memories of those childhood conversations
never really left me. Often, in moments of doubt and
perplexity, I would recall the serene sense of security I
had then. I appreciated now how patient, understanding, and
kind she was to have spent her time on a little boy.

A few years later, on my way west to college, my plane put
down in Seattle I had about half-an-hour or so between
planes. I spent 15 minutes or so on the phone with my
sister, who lived there now.

Then, without thinking what I was doing, I dialed my
hometown operator and said, “Information, please.”

Miraculously, I heard the small, clear voice I knew so well.

“Information.”

I hadn’t planned this, but I heard myself saying, ” Could
you please tell me how to spell fix?”

There was a long pause. Then came the soft spoken answer, “I
guess your finger must have healed by now.”

I laughed, “So it’s really still you,” I said. “I wonder if
you have any idea how much you meant to me during that time.”

“I wonder,” she said, “if you know how much your calls meant
to me. I never had any children and I used to look forward
to your calls.”

I told her how often I had thought of her over the years and
I asked if I could call her again when I came back to visit
my sister.

“Please do,” she said. “Just ask for Sally.”

Three months later I was back in Seattle. A different voice
answered,”Information.”

I asked for Sally. “Are you a friend?” she said.

“Yes, a very old friend,” I answered.

“I’m sorry to have to tell you this,” she said. “Sally had
been working part time the last few years because she was
sick. She died five weeks ago.”

Before I could hang up she said, “Wait a minute. Is your
name Paul?”

“Yes.”

“Well, Sally left a message for you. She wrote it down in
case you called. Let me read it to you.” The note said,
“Tell him I still say there are other worlds to sing in.
He’ll know what I mean.”

I thanked her and hung up. I knew what Sally meant.

Never underestimate the impression you may make on others.

Fresh Water Fund

I have begun a campaign today, which i must say is something that i could say has pushed me out of my comfort zone.  It feels like not only a necessary but beneficial action to take and a great feeling to do something to help others

I am not sure how soon i will be able to get some information about it on the website, however i will certainly keep you updated on the progress here.

Below is what i have written about the project we are trying to get arranged and it is being sponsored by Divine Time to give it some backing.  Unfortunately i am not set up to take payments on line for this.  But i am also demonstrating how i am going about this, door to door manner, is really pushed me out of my comfort zone and also made me realise how kind people really can be.

Fresh Water Fund

My Husband and I are running a campaign to help an Albanian family.  We are looking to raise only £5000 in order to help the Marini family and others in their village called Lushnje by getting fresh water to them.

In order for this project to take place we need to raise the funds so that they can drill into the water table at 900 metres below ground level to pump the water out and build a well.

With just £5000 we will be able to do this and as a result we will be helping the residents of the Lushnje village by providing them with clean drinking water, and a supply water for their crops and animals, which form a large percentage of sustaining life and  their income.

My goal is to ask anyone who can spare a penny to do so.  If 50,000 people give just a penny, then we will have reached our target.  Imagine if you are able to offer a few pence more then, you will help us to reach our target much sooner.

We love to help others and are most grateful for your support in our efforts in doing helping us do so together

An enormous thank you on behalf of those it will help.

The Cold Within

I recieved this poem in an e-mail, and found it touching and so
wanted to share it with you here.
In the meantime I am plodding along getting my newsletter
ready to mail out and have enjoyed the research in putting
it together.

The Cold Within

by: Author Unknown

Six humans trapped by happenstance

In black and bitter cold.

Each one possessed a stick of wood,

Or so the story's told.

Their dying fire in need of logs,

The first woman held hers back

For on the faces around the fire,

She noticed one was black.

The next man looking cross the way

Saw one not of his church,

And couldn't bring himself to give

The fire his stick of birch.

The third man sat in tattered clothes;

He gave his coat a hitch.

Why should his log be put to use

To warm the idle rich?

The rich man just sat back and thought

Of the wealth he had in store.

And how to keep what he had earned

>From the lazy poor.

The black man's face bespoke revenge

As the fire passed from his sight,

For all he saw in his stick of wood

Was a chance to spite the white.

And the last man of this forlorn group

Did naught except for gain.

Giving only to those who gave

Was how he played the game.

The logs held tight in death's still hands

Was proof of human sin.

They didn't die from the cold without,

They died from the cold within.

Journaling/Writing and Books

I am back, apologise for the long delay in the recent posting.

For those of you who read my newsletter and are looking for the details or anyone who is interested, i am starting a Journaling group with a book club take on it.

The first session is being held this coming Tuesday April 10th and will be taking place in Cafe Rouge at 7pm till 9/9.30pm, which is (in West London) just past the main Ealing Broadway Shopping Centre, past the main post office on the left hand side opposite Walpole Park. If anyone needs better directions, please contact me.

Since i sent the newsletter out, i have already had 2 confirmations for the up coming meeting. Please let me know by Sunday 8th April that you intend to come, so i can ensure we have enough spaces reserved.

Now the details…

The purpose of this group is to bring together like minded friends who are interested in using journaling as a tool, to get back intouch with their inner wisdom, discover more passion more purpose and create a life they love.

The book aspect will i’m sure develop, but until it does with the participants, i was interested in bringing my latest book reviewed for my newsletter and give everyone the opportunity to have a look at it and see if it interests them. It is not compulsory to buy or even read the book, if it doesn’t suit your taste.

I don’t believe in forcing anyone to do anything, this group is for pleasure and discovery on the path of self development.

Things to bring. Well as we will be writing a little, it may be a great idea to invest in a journal, or note book or whatever book talks to you for your writings.

If you have a book you would like to share, then by all means please bring it in also.

There is no fee for joining or coming along, however as we are using a public establishment, it would be nice to buy a coffee, tea, juice or even wine if it helps the creative juices flow.

If there are any questions you feel i have left unanswered please feel free to ask me.

I look forward to seeing those of you who can come. Any of you who are not local, have information in the latest newsletter about joining a group in your area.

If you have not already subscribed to my newsletter, please follow the link in the Upper right hand part of this page to my website and you can subscribe from there. You will need to confirm your subscription.

Love Monika

P.S. I love my crafts and have been making some book thongs, so i will bring those along to the group, they are charm and beaded bookmarks, that stay well put in books. (esp. if like me you take your books with you everywhere). I will be selling them for £3 each.

P.P.S. I will endeavour to put a picture of the book thongs on here a little later or tomorrow.

Laura Duksta – Co-Creating Our Reality/I Love You More

I deliberately did not post a blog for a couple of days in order to let you get a chance to really absorb the contents and all the links to you tube.

I am so inspired by the work of the creators of the 100 day challenge that today I wanted to write about Laura Duksta and her involvement with the challenge and inspire you with how she is making progress in selling her children’s book in the millions, by finding a publisher.

It’s funny how some people think. I was asked recently, what I get out of advertising other people and their work. The honest answer is, most people who I write about don’t even know I’m writing about them, in some cases where the person is more accessible I will send them an e-mail and let them know.

I do it because of the mindset they portray, their ability to connect with me and create the ‘hypnotic rapport’ that resonates with our being and because I have been inspired and got excited by the possibilities. Lastly it gives me great pleasure and satisfaction and a reason to be grateful, that there are people I feel so connected to. It centres me to be in the now and just be happy now listening to the message. Amazing!

After watching these you tube links, I can whole heartedly say that I would love to have such positive thinking friends supporting my endeavours and me theirs? As it is said the 5 closest people to you, create a large portion of your reality, so if you want to improve yourself you better make sure that those around you bring you UP!

This could be a post unto itself, however my focus today is in sharing some beautiful and spirited people with you in the hope that you will want something better for yourself too.

To see Laura’s site and read more information about Laura and what she does as well as her book “I Love You More” go to www.lauraduksta.com

Here is a listing of the you tube links that Laura has posted since starting the most recent 100 Day Challenge, be inspired, be ready for action and love your life today!

Lisa Nichols Mirror Mirror

I hope you have had a great start to the week. I just wanted to talk to you about a teleseminar/coaching call i have just been on and how excited i am because i got to speak to Lisa Nichols. What a warm loving and kind person, she is a true sweet inspiration.

Lisa is one of the stars of ‘The Secret’ and i am wallowing in the warmth she has exuded of herself.

One of the issues that i am currently facing is my desire to serve more clients and my limited belief of actually being able to market myself face to face. What i have realised is, it’s not just about changing a belief, as once you are aware, you can do that. It’s also about practising it till it no longer makes you feel uncomfortable. in my case it’s getting used to a word without holding a tremendous association to it.

I have an association with the word no, both hearing it said to me and saying it to others. Well one thing Lisa said to someone else which i really warmed to, was; you don’t have to say a direct ‘no’ you can let someone know that your tank is running on empty. I thought that was a lovely way to express it without feeling like you are rejecting/neglecting or upsetting someone or yourself.

The Mirror Mirror is something i teach my clients on our first session but also having listened to Lisa she advocates a more in depth version which i would like to share with you.

When you brush your teeth, look into the mirror and look into your eyes and take a breath to get into the present moment.

Whilst looking into your eyes, tell yourself why you are proud of yourself. Say i am proud of you (or insert your name) because and fill in the blank.

Then do the same for forgiveness, I forgive you (name) for … and think of anything you may want to forgive yourself for. A mean comment about someone you made, or an issue relating to your past.

Do the same again, being really honest with yourself and say; I need improvement in… whatever you feel you need to improve, like: organising myself better, defining my boundaries with…

And finally, make a commitment to yourself. So for example, i am commited to going to the gym 3 times a week, i am commited to eating healthier food and more regularly, i am commited to reading one book a week. And actually do it.

If you are truly commited, that means nothing stands in the way of you and it!

Once you start doing these everyday your life will transform and you will know, see, feel and hear the differences. Make this a part of your life, like anything else you do everyday and reap the benefits of your actions.

Love your life and love yourself!!!

Procrastination is a habit

We all procrastinate in various areas of our lives, some of us do it more than others and often much to our own detriment.

It is easy then to complain that you do not have enough time, but the truth is most of us waste time. Which makes the equation of time controlling us rather than us controlling our time.

As procrastination is a habit, and not a very good one, we need to make the time to change it and wasting time is much the same thing. Habits end up breaking us, rather than moving us to future successes.

The important thing to do is realise that like many things, time management is a learned skill.

You also come to realise that the more you get done the better you feel and the better that you feel the more energy you will have, to get even more done.

We tend to procrastinate out of fear and say we will stop tomorrow, but tomorrow becomes yesterday and there’s always another tomorrow.

So if you suffer this habit, maybe take the time to write down what it is that you avoid and why. The awareness in itself is an eye-opener and helps us move beyond the fear.

Take a pen and paper right now and jot down one thing, every journey begins with that one step. I know myself that we are a bit lazy and think exercises smexercises, but if you just do it, you can only surprise yourself and improve where you’re headed. Reading and knowledge is great but acting on it is even greater.

Have fun with it, be honest with yourself and reap the rewards!

Success

Success is interesting in as much that when asked what it means, we could all come up with a meaning that relates to ourselves.

Some people see it as being successful financially, at work, getting a promotion, having the house you always wanted or being able to provide for the family. Those are all things that you can attain by being successful true, but it is not truly the meaning of success.

Success is really more about doing things to the best of your efforts and giving all you’ve got in order to achieve. It’s also about the attitude that we have towards doing what we do. In order to keep giving your best you have to keep pushing yourself out of your comfort zone and learning to be one step ahead, because yesterdays knowledge someone else can surpass today.

Growth = Change = Progress.

Often times we fear change and therefore we choose not to grow which only stunts future progression in any area of life.

Successful people hold on to visions of what they do want whereas most people hold onto the vision of what they don’t want to happen.

What can you change about your life or your way of thinking to become a success.

One thing for sure is; to find opportunity in all obstacles or difficulties. Unsuccessful people will often see opportunities and find the obstacles and difficulties.

Just a little food for thought.

Love Your Life and be the best you can be!

Monika
