Cultivating Relationships

In recent times approximately 70% of the coaching i am doing, is relationship coaching. So i was doing a little research when i came across a couple of websites i thought would be useful to share with you.

It isn’t a sexist thing, though a part of it pertains more to women than men, but in having read a lot, i think this is an area, where reading the opposite sexes opinion is beneficial in having a good understanding one another.

Also i would like to share a thank you for comments posted to my blog, i haven’t been posting in a long while, but i intend to be here more regularly now.

Healing water

Some time when you’re feeling important

Sometime when you ego’s in bloom

Some time when you take it for granted

You’re the best qualified person in the room

Some time when you feel that you’re going

Would leave an unfillable hole

Just folow these simple instructions

And see how they humble your soul…

*     *     *     *    *     *     *     *     *     *

Take a bucket and fil it with water

Put your hands in up to your wrists

Pull them out – and the hole that remains

Is the measure of how you’ll be missed

You may splash all you please when you enter

You may stir up the waters galore

But stop and you’ll find in a minute

That it looks just the same as before

*     *     *     *     *     *     *     *     *     *     *

The moral of this is quite simple:

You must do the best that you can

Be proud of yourself, but remember

There is no despensable woman or man.

Happy Chi

You may be familiar with the idea of ancient Eastern medicine, so here is something you can practise when you feel the world is causing you to have a little tantrum.

The soles of your feet hold a critical  key to the meridians that circulate vital energy or life force around your body.

If you would like to activate the acupressure points on the soles of your feet whilst driving healthy and happy chi around from head to toe, then take off your shoes and stamp each foot on the floor 27 times, a smile on your face helps, but is not compulsory :-)

If you continue to do this 3-5 times a week, you will notice a markable difference very quickly.

The Law Of Attraction

Esther & Jerry Hicks

Just today i received an e-mail from Esther and Jerry Hicks about these videos totalling approximately 40 minutes, filmed in Los Angeles just last weekend about the Law of Attraction. I find the Abraham material to be enlightening, educational and a whole lot more than I can find the words to express right now.

Have a look at these clips and enjoy the journey and learning process.

The Why Cafe

This weekend i had the pleasure of reading a book, by John Strelecky called The Why Are You Here Cafe.

It is a reasonable short book but none-the-less very thought provoking indeed. If you feel that you are at some kind of a crossroad on your journey of life and you are looking for happiness when happiness is the way then i feel you will enjoy this book greatly. It is simple yet profound and as most things in life, where there is subtlety and ease of choice it is usually the hardest choice to make.

If you would like to see further work of John Strelecky please take a look at his website at www.whycafe.com where you can sign up to his motivational newsletter, access some free articles and read about his other works, including his internationally recognised CD series on ‘The Big Five For Life’. Which John based on his 70,000 mile trip (3 times the circumference of the earth) over a nine month period where he & his wife backpacked using a combination of horse, boat, elephant, bicycle as well as other modes of transport.

John also has a site which is asking for a minimal donation of just $1 as part of a non-profit organization he founded called ‘Inspire Two Million’. Have a look at the website www.inspire2million.com

Wishing you a wonderful week and should you buy the book i wish you an amazing epiphany.

Roots and Wings

This is a lovely Child’s Bedtime Song i want to share with you.

If I had two wishes, I know what they would be

I’d wish for roots to cling to and wings to set me free;

Roots of inner value, like rings within a tree

and wings of independance to seek my destiny.

Roots to hold forever to keep me safe and strong,

To let me know you love me, when I’ve done something wrong;

To show me by example and help me learn to choose,

To take those actions everyday to win instead of lose.

Just be there when I need yo, to tell me it’s all right,

To test my fear of falling when I test my wings in flight;

Don’t make my life too easy, it’s better if I try,

And fail and get back up myself, so I can learn to fly.

If I had two wishes and they were all I had,

And they could just be granted, by my mom and dad;

I woudn’t ask for money or any store bought things,

The greatest gifts I’d ask for are simply roots and wings.

Money For a Tangible Purpose

As we all know money is an issue for most people. With the New Year and it’s resolution, for many of us, it is part of our resolutions, what this might mean to you; whether it be saving money through frugality or making more. It is often a concern or at the very least a desire to have extra.

In the past week I have had the pleasure of talking to two top coaches, both of whom are very well known, not only on the coaching circuit, but worldwide through television appearances and other media publicity.

Michael Neill who I have the opportunity to talk to on a monthly basis, through my wealth coaching program, is an International speaker, Success coach and author.

Sanyika calloway Boyce who I had the pleasure of being on a call with tonight, is an International speaker, Finance coach and author.

As we discussed the area of finance quite extensively on both calls, I wanted to take a moment and share with you probably the most fundamental way to make a change to your money situation.

Michael very wisely pointed out that you need a tangible purpose in order to create more money with motivation.

Meaning if you have a reason to need more money then you are far more likely to find a way of creating it, rather than just putting out a figure, because it sounds good, or it’s what you think others expect of you.

So Michael suggested that you set up 3 amounts, like stages to aim for.

The first level is; how much money do I need per month, to live the lifestyle I currently lead, including bills, and expenses. Write down the figure which that comes to.

The second level is; how much money do I need now for my new and improved life, in order to pay for that holiday I have wanted, or pay for the course I could do to get a promotion, or pay Aunt Hilda’s health insurance for a whole year. Whatever you can conceive, write it down, what would that new figure be.

The third level is; Your WoW! level. So here you would consider bigger targets, like; I love the idea of moving to that bigger house and visiting the Taj Mahal on first class tickets, learning to fly a plane and racing camels across the Sahara Desert and even starting up a foundation to help feed the homeless. What figure would you now need? Write it down.

There is no end to the imagination, though you don’t often practise using it because society has drummed into us quite well that you have to work hard for your money, or it doesn’t grow on trees, and so you seldom feel or believe it to be possible for you to accomplish.

But it makes all the difference in getting the money if you have dreams and desires of what you would like to create in your life. Purely because you open yourself up to new possibilities and conjure new propositions for making it possible and making it fun at the same time.

Sanyika made a very powerful comment on this matter also, in the way of a question. “What is your vision that requires you to earn more money” See once you are clear, it takes away the any guilt that you might otherwise experience and you are making a concious and responsible decision, of what you plan to do with the money.

If you are interested in discovering yourself further and would like to see how I could help you in this area, please feel free to contact me, it is always a pleasure to see people living the life of their dreams. It is my purpose and passion in seeing it happen for you.

Happy For No Reason

b-ms.jpg

It is often the assumption that in order to feel happy, you need to have a reason for feeling this emotion. Contrary to this belief, it is actually quite possible to change your thoughts to one’s of happiness and experience being happy. Once you set off a trend of feeling happy, you will start to notice that there are more things to feel happy about, in so doing you will be setting off a domino effect.

Marci Schimoff of the world famous movie and book ‘The Secret’ and co-author of six Chicken Soup for the Soul books, has just released a book called ‘Happy For No Reason’ a seven step process moving you into a state of fulfilment, relaxation, peacefulness and as a result being open to more opportunities of every sort you can imagine.

Especially as we are at a time of year where change is imminent, because of New Year’s resolutions. I thought about my own desires for the coming year and how much easier it is to progress when feeling happy and positive about what lies ahead. Of course there are often ups and downs as you take the journey of life, but how much better you can make it, depends on your state of mind.

Why not be in control of yours and make the concious choice of affirmative action for you. Ultimately you can only take responsibility for yourself, so step up and take action and make this year start with feelings of ‘I can do it’.

Wishing you Happiness for the upcoming week

Three Cups Of Tea

threecupstea.jpg

Three Cups of Tea: One Man’s Mission to Promote Peace . . . One School at a Time

One person can change the world, as Greg Mortenson, author of the inspiring book, Three Cups Of Tea would attest.

After a failed attempt to climb Pakistan’s K2, the world’s second highest mountain, Mortenson became lost during his descent. Two Balti porters found him and brought him to a village where locals nursed him back to health. It was there, and after witnessing a group of Pakistani children scratch their arithmetic lessons in the sand with sticks, where Mortenson promised to return to build a school in their impoverished village.

After surviving an armed kidnapping in Waziristan, fatwas issued by enraged mullahs, and repeated death threats, Mortenson established the nonprofit Central Asia Institute which, over twelve years, has helped build 55 schools and educate over 25,000 children (mainly girls) in war-torn Pakistan and Afghanistan.

If this book, doesn’t make you want to get off your hiney and build a school, save a child, give money to something somewhere, we don’t know what will. If nothing else, this book certainly convinced us that the act of helping change minds is one hell of an adventure.

Prayer of St Francis

st-francis-copy.jpg

Lord, make me an instrument of thy peace,
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy;

O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.

For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

St. Francis was born at Assisi in 1182. Like many early saints, he lived a very simple life of poverty, and in so doing, gained a reputation of being the friend of animals. He established the rule of St Francis, which exists today as the Order of St. Francis, or the Franciscans. He died in 1226, aged 44.

A Box Full Of Kisses

I have realised it’s almost been a week since i posted last and today i got an e-mail from Healthy, Wealth and Wise. It really is a lovely but touching story and so i wanted to share it with you here.

A Box Full of Kisses

by: Author Unknown

The story goes that some time ago, a man punished his 3-year-old daughter for wasting a roll of gold wrapping paper. Money was tight and he became infuriated when the child tried to decorate a box to put under the Christmas tree. Nevertheless, the little girl brought the gift to her father the next morning and said, “This is for you, Daddy.”

The man was embarrassed by his earlier overreaction, but his anger flared again when he found out the box was empty. He yelled at her, stating, “Don’t you know, when you give someone a present, there is supposed to be something inside?

The little girl looked up at him with tears in her eyes and cried, “Oh, Daddy, it’s not empty at all. I blew kisses into the box. They’re all for you, Daddy.”

The father was crushed. He put his arms around his little girl, and he begged for her forgiveness.

Only a short time later, an accident took the life of the child. It is also told that her father kept that gold box by his bed for many years and, whenever he was discouraged, he would take out an imaginary kiss and remember the love of the child who had put it there.

I Gotta Tell You!

This evening i feel compelled to share the details of an e-mail i recieved from Jim Edwards. I will copy and paste the details for you. I have just added a post to the list myself and hope that you will help by doing the same.

Much love

Monika

Jim Edwards here with an update about an article I wish I never had to write…

This past Friday my son-in-law was severely injured when the vehicle he was driving in Iraq was struck by a road- side bomb. He and 3 of his team members were badly hurt, the fifth member of the team was killed.

My article this week is about how we can use the Internet to support the troops and their families (regardless of our personal feelings about this or any other war).

http://www.igottatellyou.com/blog/support-our-troops-online/

*** Now here’s the personal FAVOR I need from you: ***

Tomorrow (Wed. 10/31/07) we’re driving up to Walter Reed Hospital to meet him after his medical transport plane arrives from Germany.

If you feel comfortable doing it, I’d like to ask you to leave a comment on my blog with a get-well or inspirational thought for my son-in-law, Jon H.

I’m not asking for – nor will I accept – political commentary about the war! What I’m asking for is some positive energy, prayers, and good thoughts for his recovery and that of his friends.

I want to print the comments off and take them to him so he can read them when he’s feeling a little down or when he feels alone or doubtful about what he went through and why.

Again, if you feel it’s appropriate for you, please read the article and leave him a positive note on the blog.

I’ll consider it a personal favor.

Thanks :-)

Jim

My Robot R-U-ME2

This is a lovely poem i have come across taken from Denis Waitley’s book The Seeds of Greatness Treasury.  I used to write a lot of poems myself and find it interesting to know, that there is a difference between what the author is thinking while writing the words and the meaning they hold to the author and the difference the very same words  hold in the mind and  perception of the reader not only effecting thoughts but creating new meaning.

My Robot: R-U-ME2

I have a little robot,

That goes around with me.

I tell him what i’m thinking,

I tell him what i see,

I tell my little robot,

All my hopes and fears.

He listens and remembers,

All my joy and tears.

At first my little robot,

Followed my command,

But after years of training,

He’s gotten out of hand.

He doesn’t care what’s right or wrong,

Or what is false or true.

No matter what i try now,

He tells me what to do.

Whose Life Have You Touched Today?

Information Please
by Author Unknown

When I was quite young, my father had one of the first
telephones in our neighborhood. I remember well the
polished, old case fastened to the wall. The shiny receiver
hung on the side of the box. I was too little to reach the
telephone, but used to listen with fascination when my
mother used to talk to it. Then I discovered that somewhere
inside the wonderful device lived an amazing person her name
was “Information Please” and there was nothing she did not
know. “Information Please” could supply anybody’s number and
the correct time.

My first personal experience with this genie-in-the-bottle
came one day while my mother was visiting a neighbor.
Amusing myself at the tool bench in the basement, I whacked
my finger with a hammer. The pain was terrible, but there
didn’t seem to be any reason in crying because there was no
one home to give sympathy. I walked around the house sucking
my throbbing finger, finally arriving at the stairway.

The telephone! Quickly, I ran for the foot stool in the
parlor and dragged it to the landing. Climbing up, I
unhooked the receiver in the parlor and held it to my ear.
“Information Please,” I said into the mouthpiece just above
my head. A click or two and a small clear voice spoke into
my ear.

“Information”

“I hurt my finger…” I wailed into the phone. The tears
came readily enough now that I had an audience.

“Isn’t your mother home?” came the question.

“Nobody’s home but me,” I blubbered.

“Are you bleeding?” the voice asked.

“No,” I replied. “I hit my finger with the hammer and it
hurts.”

“Can you open your icebox?” she asked. I said I could.

“Then chip off a little piece of ice and hold it to your
finger,” said the voice.

After that, I called “Information Please” for everything. I
asked her for help with my geography and she told me where
Philadelphia was. She helped me with my math. She told me my
pet chipmunk, that I had caught in the park just the day
before, would eat fruit and nuts. Then, there was the time
Petey, our pet canary died. I called “Information Please”
and told her the sad story. She listened, then said the
usual things grown ups say to soothe a child. But I was
unconsoled. I asked her, “Why is it that birds should sing
so beautifully and bring joy to all families, only to end up
as a heap of feathers on the bottom of a cage?” She must
have sensed my deep concern, for she said quietly, “Paul,
always remember that there are other worlds to sing in.”
Somehow I felt better.

Another day I was on the telephone. “Information Please.”

“Information,” said the now familiar voice.

“How do you spell fix?” I asked.

All this took place in a small town in the Pacific
Northwest. When I was nine years old, we moved across the
country to Boston. I missed my friend very much.
“Information Please” belonged in that old wooden box back
home and I somehow never thought of trying the tall, shiny
new phone that sat on the table in the hall. As I grew into
my teens, the memories of those childhood conversations
never really left me. Often, in moments of doubt and
perplexity, I would recall the serene sense of security I
had then. I appreciated now how patient, understanding, and
kind she was to have spent her time on a little boy.

A few years later, on my way west to college, my plane put
down in Seattle I had about half-an-hour or so between
planes. I spent 15 minutes or so on the phone with my
sister, who lived there now.

Then, without thinking what I was doing, I dialed my
hometown operator and said, “Information, please.”

Miraculously, I heard the small, clear voice I knew so well.

“Information.”

I hadn’t planned this, but I heard myself saying, ” Could
you please tell me how to spell fix?”

There was a long pause. Then came the soft spoken answer, “I
guess your finger must have healed by now.”

I laughed, “So it’s really still you,” I said. “I wonder if
you have any idea how much you meant to me during that time.”

“I wonder,” she said, “if you know how much your calls meant
to me. I never had any children and I used to look forward
to your calls.”

I told her how often I had thought of her over the years and
I asked if I could call her again when I came back to visit
my sister.

“Please do,” she said. “Just ask for Sally.”

Three months later I was back in Seattle. A different voice
answered,”Information.”

I asked for Sally. “Are you a friend?” she said.

“Yes, a very old friend,” I answered.

“I’m sorry to have to tell you this,” she said. “Sally had
been working part time the last few years because she was
sick. She died five weeks ago.”

Before I could hang up she said, “Wait a minute. Is your
name Paul?”

“Yes.”

“Well, Sally left a message for you. She wrote it down in
case you called. Let me read it to you.” The note said,
“Tell him I still say there are other worlds to sing in.
He’ll know what I mean.”

I thanked her and hung up. I knew what Sally meant.

Never underestimate the impression you may make on others.
Whose life have you touched today?
